Do you have Questions for a tuning company? Cobb Tuning !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! will be on the show (well not the whole company but a representative). So if you have questions about Cobb specifically, or about tuning companies. Now is your chance to ask. Don’t forget to check out Cobb Tuning they have some great stuff. My favorite is the exhaust products they have. Plus they just announced support for some VW models.

Also if you have any questions about the NYIAS. Let me know I’m finishing up this weeks episode this evening, and want to answer any questions you may have about getting into, being at, NYIAS.

What definite (long term) sacrifices in reliability would a typical stage 3 package have? Why doesn’t anyone make tunes for toyotas? Are the ECUS locked down very badly?

Ian at Cobb is awesome. I serve him coffee. That is all.

When will they release flex fuel for FA20DIT 2015+WRXs?

Do they consider themselves a hardware company first or a software company first?

What is their favorite car/project they’ve been involved in and why?

What is the most surprising outcome for a vehicle they’ve worked on?

What is the most difficult part of their business?

Can they tune my bagel for E85?

Generally most aftermarket tunes are for turbocharged cars. There are tunes for 2ZZ’s but they don’t offer much benefit.

I’m pretty sure I know the answer, but I’d like to hear it from Cobb - why do they tune the FA20 motor in the WRX, but not in the BRZ/FR-S/86?

As for NYIAS, who were those RFD freaks you were hanging out with, anyway?

Can they give me a discount on an accessport for my Mustang?

Speaking of VW support, are they planning any support for the new EA888 1.8t engines (2015+ Golf, Jetta). I’d love the flexibility of an accessport for my Golf over taking it in to get tunes for APR and the like. I’ll volunteer my car for testing if need be. :)

What sort of tune would you recommend for a fun daily. For example a new WRX.

I would presume its because the BRZ/FR-S is NA. There isn't much to tune on a NA engine.

That’s my guess, too. But it would still be cool if they could tune out the dreaded torque dip, or had some tunes for catless downpipes and such. But there’s certainly much more gain to be had from a turbo car.

Any chance for tuning the Ford Escape with the two liter EcoBoost?

Pretty sure that'll void your warranty

Does it use the same ecu as the mk7 gti?

I know they're working on those.

I’m not sure but I’d be inclined to guess that the hardware may be the same with the only difference being in the software. I think the 2.0TSI from the GTI is just a stroked version of my 1.8 and I’m fairly sure the block, head and turbo are the same. It should be an easier jump adapting from GTI to 1.8TSI than GTI to R as the R enginr is more vastly different than that of the GTI.

If Cobb bring out an accessory for my car I’ll likely be one of the first to buy one.

The ECU is all that matters, once it’s cracked you basically have a standalone ECU and you can tune it to work with whatever is attached to it. The actual OTS calibrations for different setups are the trivial part.
